University of Tasmania's commitment to Gender Equity

The University of Tasmania is committed to creating a diverse and equitable workplace, and is taking a holistic approach by addressing gender barriers across all disciplines.

One of the major challenges, as part of our holistic approach to addressing gender diversity, is to tackle the under-representation of women in Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths and Medicine (STEMM) disciplines. In accordance with this pursuit, the University joined the Science in Australia Gender Equity (SAGE) Pilot in September 2016, becoming one of the 40 inaugural members of the prestigious Athena SWAN Charter in Australia.

Get involved by visiting our gender equity website which offers a wide range of informative and useful resources showcasing the University’s commitment to creating and supporting a diverse and equitable workplace.
