Women in science we admire

Nina McLean

Nina McLean nominated by Catherine Young

Nina is currently a PhD candidate at the Australian National University where she is investigating the influence of climate change on birds using long-term banding and nest search data. Nina is a great advocate for climate action and woman in STEM. In 2016 she participated in the first all-woman ‘Homeward Bound’ expedition to Antarctica. This voyage was aimed at equipping female scientists with the skills to become leaders in their fields. Although still a PhD student Nina has already achieved great things for woman in STEM. Although other scientists have inspired me to get to this stage of my career, Nina’s dedication and enthusiasm for science inspires me to keep fighting.
